THE SCOTS COLLEGE OLD BOYS PIPES AND DRUMS — AUSTRALIA

To celebrate a century of The Scots College in Sydney, Australia, The Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums was formed in 1993. Scottish culture had been central to campus life since its founding, but pipes and drums weren’t introduced until 1900. By the time The Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums was formed, bagpipe music was played at all major events, and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother had granted The Scots College Pipes and Drums permission to wear the Black Watch tartan.

The Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums began performing at ANZAC Day commemorations in 1996 and has gone on to perform at many regal, formal and community events in the community, as well as representing the College around the world at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Virginia International Tattoo, the Basel Tattoo, and now the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo!

Loved everything from start to finish. The music, especially the bagpipes, the dancers and all acts were first class from start to finish. Loved the acrobatic act. Our seats were perfect. The salute to the fallen service members and the Highway of Heroes was emotional. I was in tears. It was a very enjoyable evening for myself and my friends. I would recommend this event for all ages.
