THE DELTA POLICE PIPE BAND — BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA

Formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, British Columbia, the Delta Police Pipe Band has proudly represented both the Department and the City of Delta at home and around the world for more than five decades.

Under the direction of Pipe Major Corey Tillyer and Drum Major Jim Ingram, the band continues to honour its roots wearing the Ancient Smith Tartan, a tribute to the band’s co-founder, the late Chief Constable M.W. Smith.

The band has been featured on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including performances at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Belfast Tattoo, the Basel Tattoo, and the Netherlands Military Tattoo. The band is also delighted to be returning to the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo for the first time since 2004.

Beyond the tattoo circuit, the Delta Police Pipe Band has shared the stage with world-renowned artists—most notably performing Mull of Kintyre live with Sir Paul McCartney on three separate occasions—and collaborating with legendary groups such as The Chieftains, among others.

“I had never been to a Tattoo before, I only went to this one because by chance I was in Halifax for a few days. I had high hopes but they were by a long way exceeded. It was an amazing show of great variety, a rare event where you just don’t want the evening to end. Well done and thank you to all involved.”
