Flight Sergeant Jeanette Scott was born in the summer of 1976 in Billericay, Essex and started learning piano and flute whilst at primary school. After studying A level Music at Chelmsford County High School for Girls she went on to study Music at the London College of Music, obtaining a 2:1 Bachelor of Music degree in 1998. She then joined the Royal Air Force, starting her Recruit Basic Training at RAF Halton in the December of that year.
In March 1999, she was posted to the Band of the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell, Lincolnshire. Over the next 16 years she spent time in both the Band of the RAF College and the Band of the RAF Regiment where she sat as both Principal Flute and 2nd flute/piccolo. During this time, she was also deployed to Afghanistan in 2003 and spent three months guarding Kabul Airfield.
In 2015, the Royal Air Force Music Service’s re-brigade saw Jeanette posted to the newly formed Band of the RAF Regiment based at RAF Northolt, where she has been stationed ever since. On promotion to Flight Sergeant in 2021, she took up the position of Drum Major within the Central Band of the RAF.
In November 2024 she took up the position of FS Training within Head Quarters Music Services.
A keen sportswoman, she oversaw the Running Clubs at both RAF Northolt and Cranwell and has represented the RAF at both rowing and athletics, being awarded her Sports Colours early on in her career.
