BUNDESWEHR CEREMONIAL BAND — GERMANY

The Bundeswehr Ceremonial Band is a musical ambassador of Germany all over the world, renowned for its diverse musical proficiency.
As a part of the country’s protocol and ceremonial services, the Bundeswehr Ceremonial Band is involved in welcoming guests and plays more than 70 national anthems each year. The Band performs at special occasions and state ceremonial events and has a repertoire that includes classical music adaptations, original symphonic wind orchestra, traditional march music, and lively dance and entertaining tunes.
The Bundeswehr Ceremonial Band performs more than 250 times each year at home and abroad, with annual concerts at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Berlin Cathedral, and the Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting Corporation studio hall. There are also many Christmas concerts at churches all over Germany, as well as CD recordings and appearances on radio and television!
Describing themselves as a ‘musical business card’ for the German Armed Forces, the Nova Scotia Tattoo is excited to strengthen our bonds of friendship with Germany and welcome the Bundeswehr Ceremonial Band this summer!
As the Band says, despite the backdrop of unsettling global politics, it’s increasingly important to build a dialogue between cultures, and military music has the power to be a relevant way of expressing political awareness.
