12 Wing Pipes & Drums, as established in 1995, is a Canadian Armed Forces Pipe Band based in Shearwater, Nova Scotia, comprised of current military, former military, and civilian volunteer members. 12 Wing provides musical support to the CAF and the community performing at events such as parades, Tattoos and Highland Games all over the world.
14 WINGGREENWOOD PIPES & DRUMS
Based in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, 14 Wing Pipes & Drums was officially formed in 1979 by authority of National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa. Since 1980, the band has provided musical support for Wing functions and performs regularly in community events throughout the Annapolis Valley, Atlantic Canada, North America, and around the world. The Pipe Band has also been tasked to perform at various international events.
THE NOVA SCOTIA HIGHLANDERS PIPES & DRUMS
The Nova Scotia Highlanders Pipes & Drums is made up of 12 in-trade pipers and drummers, retired military, and militaryv olunteer members who support events locally and abroad. These include the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Halifax International Security Forum, multiple Remembrance Day Ceremonies annually, and OP DISTINCTION commemorative events in France, Belgium, and Italy, among other events.
THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH REGIMENT (PRINCESS MARY’S) PIPES & DRUMS
Located in Victoria, British Columbia, the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s) is Vancouver Island’s infantry regiment. The Regimental Pipes & Drums is an authorized band of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with a long and distinguished military history dating back to before the First World War. The Regimental Tartan is Hunting Stewart.
THE CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDERS PIPES & DRUMS
The Cape Breton Highlanders Pipes & Drums are the official military and ceremonial band for the Cape Breton Highlanders infantry regiment based out of the Victoria Park Armoury in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The band performs at military functions, parades, and community events.
2ND BATTALION, THE ROYAL CANADIAN REGIMENT PIPES & DRUMS
The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) Pipes & Drums (P&D) is made up of Regular Force infantry soldiers from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown (New Brunswick) who have volunteered their time and effort to maintain a traditional military pipe band since.
THE QUEEN’S OWN CAMERON HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA PIPES & DRUMS
The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada is a Primary Reserve unit of the Canadian Army based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The unit was founded in February 1910, making it the oldest kilted regiment in Western Canada. Members of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada Pipes & Drums are a mix of full-time and part-time soldiers augmented by a cadre of dedicated civilian volunteers. The band performs at a wide variety of military parades and community events, travelling abroad in recent years to support the Virginia International Tattoo, the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
THE SCOTS COLLEGE OLD BOYS PIPES AND DRUMS
To celebrate a century of The Scots College in Sydney, Australia, The Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums was formed in 1993. Scottish culture had been central to campus life since its founding, but pipes and drums weren’t introduced until 1900. By the time The Scots College Old Boys Pipes and Drums was formed, bagpipe music was played at all major events, and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother had granted The Scots College Pipes and Drums permission to wear the Black Watch tartan.
Formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, British Columbia, the Delta Police Pipe Band has proudly represented both the Department and the City of Delta at home and around the world for more than five decades. Under the direction of Pipe Major Corey Tillyer and Drum Major Jim Ingram, the band continues to honour its roots wearing the Ancient Smith Tartan, a tribute to the band’s co-founder, the late Chief Constable M.W. Smith.
“The Tattoo has to be the one Canadian/Nova Scotia show to check off a bucket list. We liked it so much, that we’ve now made it an annual event for our family. As each year has a different theme, you never know what to expect. But one thing that never changes is the marching of the mass band. It’s just AWESOME!”
