BAND OF THE CEREMONIAL GUARD – CANADIAN ARMED FORCES

One of the most iconic military bands in Canada, the Band of the Ceremonial Guard is comprised of the Canadian Army’s top Primary Reserve musicians. The band performs daily on Parliament Hill throughout the summer, and supports many ceremonies, concerts and other public events in Ottawa. Its members are instantly recognizable in their distinctive scarlet tunics and black bearskin caps. Uniforms worn by the Ceremonial Guard are made up of a combination of those of the Canadian Grenadier Guards, which can be identified by the white plume in the bearskin, and the Governor General’s Foot Guards, which have a red plume.

“We have attended every performance of the Tattoo except one. So far there has never been a bad one. This year was also top notch, lots of music, especially the bagpipes, well done. Also nice to see local performers taking part.”
