MACHINE DE CIRQUE — QUEBEC

Machine de Cirque is a contemporary circus company based in Quebec City, renowned for its innovative productions that blend acrobatic prowess with poetry, humor, and intelligence. Founded in 2013 by a collective of artists, the company stands out for its deeply human and unifying approach to circus arts. Since its self-titled debut creation, Machine de Cirque has developed a rich and original repertoire, presented across Europe, Asia, and North America. True to its artistic signature, the company fuses high-level circus, music, and theatre into works that captivate, surprise, and move audiences of all backgrounds.

Originally from Quebec City, the duo Mat & Mym—Mathieu Cloutier and Myriam Lessard—bring a distinctive approach to acrobatic roller skating. Their practice combines technical rigor with artistic exploration, creating performances where virtuosity becomes a language. Performing on elevated structures, they develop a physical vocabulary of breathtaking lifts, controlled imbalances, and suspended moments. Driven by an authentic partnership, they have captivated audiences on both national and international stages, notably reaching the finals of Canada’s Got Talent. Their work embodies a meeting point between adrenaline and poetry, where risk itself becomes a creative force.

Originally from Quebec City, Jean-François Faber is a circus artist with an exceptional career, recognized for his versatility and unique approach to movement. Specializing in trial biking—a rare discipline in the circus world, and one for which he is the sole representative in Quebec City—he transforms obstacles and structures into playgrounds where precision, daring, and fluidity converge in a distinctive acrobatic language.

A multidisciplinary artist and musician, he is also widely recognized for his cube manipulation act, where technical mastery and rhythmic sensitivity intertwine to create striking and unexpected imagery. With over 30 years of experience, Jean-François Faber has collaborated with some of the world’s leading circus companies, cultivating a stage presence that is precise, committed, and deeply expressive.

The variety and professionalism of all the acts were phenomenal. The amount of work and practice by performers and crew was obviously astronomical making for an amazing show!
