With cyclists, gymnasts, bands, military displays and more, the international cast of the 2022 Tattoo delighted fans of all ages.

The 2022 Tattoo featured performers from Canada, Germany, and Jordan.

THE FLYING GRANDPAS

The Flying Grandpas
Comedy, capers, and constant delights! That’s what The Flying Grandpas bring to the Tattoo and Halifax every time they return, and we’re thrilled to welcome them back this summer. We’re already looking forward to their entertaining trampoline routine!

GERMAN BICYCLE TEAM

The German Bicycle Team
The talented cyclists who perform with the German Bicycle Team will amaze you with their feats and tricks! Some of Germany’s best cyclists appear in the group, and they’re bringing their skills to Halifax this summer!

HEERESMUSIKKORPS NEUBRANDENBURG

Heeresmusikkorps Neubrandenburg
Formed under its current name in 2013 (but dating back to 1991), Heeresmusikkorps Neubrandenburg represents not only the German Army but also the wider area of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and performs all over Germany, Europe and the rest of the world at events like charity concerts, military ceremonies and parades.

JORDANIAN ARMED FORCES BAND

Jordanian Armed Forces Band
The Jordanian Armed Forces Band was established in 1921 with only 10 musicians. Today, over 600 people perform within the organization. The Band represents Jordan on a global stage and debuts at the Tattoo this summer! Their pipes and drums will augment the Tattoo Massed Pipes & Drums.

HIGH FLYER RB3

High Flyer RB3
Based in Quebec City, High Flyer RB3 is adding the Tattoo to its roster, which includes appearances on America’s Got Talent, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, NBA half-time shows, and Cirque du Soleil! This top-notch circus group has performed in over 32 countries around the world – see them in Halifax this summer.

THE VANCOUVER POLICE PIPE BAND

The Vancouver Police Pipe Band
They’re the world’s oldest continuous-serving police pipe band and the official band of the City of Vancouver, and next summer, they’re adding the Nova Scotia Tattoo to their impressive, and globe-spanning, resume.

ZAMANI

Zamani
Zamani is a celebrated local singer, songwriter, arranger and producer who has quickly made a name for herself as one of Nova Scotia’s top pop, jazz, soul and R&B performers.

Earlier this month, Zamani won East Coast Music Awards for African Canadian Artist of the Year and the R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for her single ‘Selfish.’

JULIA DEUVILLE

Julia Deuville
Julia Deuville, a native of Truro, is an up-and-coming musical phenom whose repertoire includes festivals, concerts and musical theatre.

PO1 BRAD DAVIDGE

PO1 Brad Davidge
PO1 Brad Davidge is both a celebrated Canadian musician and a staple at the Tattoo. His talents have seen him working with the likes of the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy and Natalie MacMaster.

ANASTASIA

Anastasia
Anastasia is a professional contemporary circus artist who specializes in aerial acts, hula hoops and fire. She grew up in a circus family in Europe and has been performing and competing since she was four years old as a circus artist, acrobat and rhythmic gymnast! 

EASTERN EAGLE

Eastern Eagle
Eastern Eagle is a group of Mi’kmaq singers from the East Coast who have performed at many of North America’s most prestigious Powwows. They make their Tattoo debut this summer.

HALLELUJAH PRAISE CHOIR

Hallelujah Praise Choir
For over 40 years the Hallelujah Praise Choir, directed by Wallace Smith Jr., has performed jazz-influenced four-part harmonies from a range of traditional to contemporary musical genres. Made up of 50 singers including members of the North Preston’s Saint Thomas Baptist Church this gospel choir has received accolades from East Coast Music Awards and African Nova Scotian Music Association.

PETER ANTHONY

Peter Anthony
Peter Anthony is a Canadian Comedy Award winning comedian (Breakout Artist) and nominee (Best Male Standup) originally from the small town of Pictou, Nova Scotia. Some of Peter’s credits include Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, CBC’s Halifax ComedyFest, Toronto’s North by Northeast (NXNE) Festival, CBC Radio’s The Debaters and television appearances on CBC, CTV Comedy, MuchMusic, and MTV. Outside of the club and festival circuit Peter also performs as a corporate entertainer with past clients including Tim Hortons, Procter & Gamble, Bell Mobility, Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment Partnership, and SickKids Hospital.

STADACONA BAND OF THE
ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY

The Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy
The Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy represents both the Canadian Armed Forces and the East Coast’s Navy as one of the premier military bands in Canada. The Band is also the Tattoo’s long-time pit band, having performed in the show from the very beginning!

CENTRAL BAND OF THE
CANADIAN ARMED FORCES

The Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces
The Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces is one of six full-time Regular Force military bands in the Canadian Armed Forces, and provides musical support throughout the National Capital Region. The Band will be augmented by musicians from La Musique du 438e Escadron Tactique d’hélicoptères and the Royal Canadian Air Force.

36 CANADIAN BRIGADE
GROUP BAND

The 36 Canadian Brigade Group Band
The 36 Canadian Brigade Group Band is the premier brass and reed military band in Nova Scotia, and performs on behalf of 36 Canadian Brigade. In the band’s long history, performing at the Tattoo has been a staple of their summer calendar.

NATIONAL BAND OF THE NAVAL RESERVE

The National Band of the Naval Reserve
The National Band of the Naval Reserve is comprised of musicians selected from the Naval Reserve Division bands across Canada and provides musical support for both military and public events nationwide, such as the Calgary Stampede, the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup, and of course, the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo!

NAVAL TACTICAL OPERATIONS GROUPS

The Naval Tactical Operations Group
The Naval Tactical Operations Group is a full-time dedicated unit within the Royal Canadian Navy that specializes in advanced boarding operations at sea. Currently, NTOG works both domestically and overseas and consists of approximately 50 personnel, located on both coasts, that are sailors from both the Regular Force and Naval Reserve.

CANADIAN ARMED FORCES OBSTACLE RACE

The Canadian Armed Forces Obstacle Race is sure to be a nail-biter this year! Teams from the Royal Canadian Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Army are going head-to-head in competition for the trophy. Who’re you rooting for?

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Massed Pipes & Drums
The Tattoo Massed Pipes & Drums are comprised of units including Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR), 5 CDSB (Gagetown), 12 Wing (Shearwater), 14 Wing (Greenwood), Nova Scotia Highlanders, the Jordanian Armed Forces Pipes & Drums, and the Black Watch (Atlantic) Association.

Whether it’s a fling, a reel or a sword dance, the magnificent Highland dancers who make up the Tattoo International Highland Dance Team are always a crowd favourite.

NORTH AMERICAN BRASS BAND SUMMER SCHOOL

The North American Brass Band Summer School Musicians
The North American Brass Band Summer School musicians features some of the most talented performers on both sides of the Atlantic! NABBSS is led by world-renowned brass musicians (and father and son) Dr. Robert Childs and David Childs.

TATTOO CHOIR

The Tattoo Choir
The Tattoo Choir, the harmonious main choral element of the show, has been a major part of the show for over 30 years, and is led by Choral Director Patricia Tupper.

TATTOO CHILDREN’S CHORUS

The Tattoo Children's Chorus
Children throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality lend their voices to the Tattoo Children’s Chorus. Listen to these talented youngsters throughout the musical scenes in the show!

TATTOO FANFARE TRUMPETERS

The Tattoo Fanfare Trumpeters
Easily identifiable in their Tudor-era costumes, the Tattoo’s Fanfare Trumpeters can be seen throughout the show, adding bursts of fanciful and triumphant music to the Tattoo.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to circumstances outside of the Tattoo’s control, the IMPS Motorcycle Display Team will no longer appear in the 2022 Tattoo.
